DENSO VIETNAM - Taste of Home and Fulfillment

My internship at DENSO MANUFACTURING VIETNAM CO.,LTD. (Here after DENSO VIETNAM)  came to me as an opportune fortune as I was quite homesick at the beginning of sophomore year, looking for an excuse to go back by asking around where there is a chance for me to do an internship in my home country. Then there came a way when Mika sensei told me about a big Japanese company in manufacturing automotive components named DENSO, luckily that they had a branch in Vietnam and more nicely, they do offer an internship opportunity for student in the coming spring. Undoubtedly I was so eager to apply and ultimate happiness moment first came when I was accepted to do the internship at DENSO VIETNAM’s Design Center, then, later just got ready to pack my stuffs to go back after the semester ended.  The journey starts here.

Since the very first day when I came to the company, staff members of Design Center came to help me out  and a staff named Dung showed me around the main building, introducing briefly about DENSO VIETNAM for a while.
DENSO VIETNAM, locating at Thang Long industrial park in Hanoi, was established in 2001. There are 3 functions in the company :  Designing automotive components (Design Center), Manufacturing automotive components ( Factory),  and Trading. During 13 years of operation, they have achieved good sale as well as good fame, especially when being ranked top 104 Best Employers in Vietnam last year.
Then, on the occasion that staff members of DENSO VIETNAM’s Training Academy were doing morning exercise, Dung joined them, naturally urged me to get involved as well. That morning exercise, then, in later days, become a habit for every single working day to make a fully energetic start of a day. In that first day, I was already impressed with enthusiastic working attitude of staffs in Human Resources and Factory tour’s guider. All professionally explained briefly about their working divisions as well as how the manufacturing factory works, showed me around to see the Training Academy where educated the newbie technical workers and  candidates for the Skill Olympic also. Later, in the early afternoon, I was given a chance to speak out in front of more than 100 members of Design Center to introduce myself and state of purpose for my internship time here. I would never expect that seem like every member had interest to know me, plugging me more courage to give the speech.

Then, every day, I was allowed to join the daily meeting of every minor group of Design Center, to listen to their on- going plans as well as working procedure of specific groups and especially, introduce myself and personal internship objectives with respect to that group. After the meeting, I usually met up directly with every group’s leaders to discuss about my working schedule on that day. I learned every major product of the company, then even analysis taken into consideration during design process. They, as a bonus, showed me the interchange between simple 3D and 2D drawings. Never would I expect that I was welcomed as a real group member and that every day I was instructed by key members like I was treated here. I would like to emphasize that the thing I appreciate the most here lies in working attitude engineers there and their wide knowledge when able to clearly explain every detail for me, even very ready for so many additional questions of such an amateur as me. Furthermore, at the end of working time, I have to write daily report to submit directly to company’s Deputy General Manager and group leaders. Though they are always busy with loads of work, they always tried to fix the report for me, in every single word, and turn it out by early of the next day. I, once again, never expect to receive such a neatly treatment as that.

That internship duration offered me opportunities to learn and develop myself in a different yet interesting area which I definitely will consider to dig deeper for my future career. It, additionally, gave me a belief in a professional working environment right in my country. I would love to thank to all the company bus arriving exactly at 7:10 every morning to pick me, to the company’s bell ringing at 8:20 and 5:00 every day to shape me in more discipline, to whom impressively gave me instruction every day and those who showed me how DENSO VIETNAM strictly works, and thank to all warmly talked to me outside working- hours as well.

Overall, I just want to say DENSO VIETNAM is my best choice ever to return back Vietnam this time.
