Fukuoka Motor Show 2015

Fukuoka City held its 5th Fukuoka Motor Show from 18th to 21st December 2015, showcasing a wide range of automobiles from 9 Japanese and 25 International manufacturers. A total feast to the eyes, the Motor Show was spread over three venues, Marine Messe Fukuoka, Fukuoka International Congress Center and Fukuoka Kokusai Center.

We started with the Kokusai Center, where the International motor companies had their cars on display. Automobile giants, such as Volkswagen, Renault, Audi, Volvo, Mercedes, BMW, Fiat and Alfa Romeo were some of the major exhibits inside the venue. High-end companies such as McLaren, Aston Martin, Cadillac, Bentley and Ferrari also added to the glam factor of the show. Motorbike majors, Harley Davidson exhibited some of there major products as well. With gorgeous ladies and the hottest cars in the market, Marine Messe was an exciting start to the day!

The next venue housed model eco-friendly cars made by university students in and around Kyushu such as Kyushu Institute of Technology, Fukuoka Institute of Technology etc. proposing the concept of usage of solar cells to power vehicles in the future.

Saving the best for the last, the Marine Messe had all the major Japanese companies with their displays. The hall was a true symbol of Japanese ingenuity with major brands such as Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Kawasaki, and Subaru etc. putting up their latest tech and new designs.

From fuel cell cars, to cars of the future, and sophisticated concept cars, the Marine Messe venue was truly a cherry on top, of what was such a fun day. Among the more unusual concept cars at the motor show was Toyota's FCV Plus concept. The majorconcept features a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain, but is also capable of generating electricity for local communities when it's not being driven, effectively becoming a portable power station.

And not to forget, the hall also showed two glistening Lamborghinis, which were surrounded by cameras of all kinds. For Military buffs, they even had a 15-ton Japanese Defense Tank on display!

The biggest motor show in Western Japan was a true mixture of talents, with domestic Japanese brands fighting along their Western counterparts. It was a total tech extravaganza and we hope the coming years come up with more and more brands from Japan and around the globe as well.
