QUBES are on the move! Here we will share our fun and exciting activities we had both on and off campus. Keep your eye on our exploration of study life in Japan.

We foreign students have traveled a long way from our warm bed to study in Japan. Being away from family is disheartening, knowing that you will encounter many hurdles along the way. Some handle it like it’s nothing, but for some others, it is too big for themselves. I am here to tell you some good news. Making Japan your second home can be the solution!
In summer 2014, I participated in a program called “JAPAN TENT.” Everyone gets to stay with a host family for 1 week in Ishikawa prefecture. Even though I have lived in Japan for 3 years, there were not many chances for us to experience Japanese family life. During this program, you will join many activities with your host family such as playing sports, sightseeing, cooking and etc. In no time, your perspective of the Japanese will be changed completely.

As you learn to adapt to your Japanese family, you will feel as if it is your home. It is tough to survive by yourself in the unfamiliar environment, and having someone that you can rely on is a big step to a better life here. I am encouraging everyone who is willing to be a part of this society to step out of your comfort zone and spend more time
with a Japanese family. Lastly, even though you don’t get to join this particular event, the G30 family is always there for you. Just reach out!
